South Bank BID teamed up with Safer Lambeth Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) to deliver ‘‘Project Diffuse’, acid attack response training for BID levy payers, BCRP members and security teams across Lambeth.
The training, delivered by the Metropolitan Police with London Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service, featured a live demonstration of an acid attack in a crowded place and provided guidance for an effective first response from staff, security and emergency services.
An expert panel, featuring MPS Leads for Lambeth, London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service and Forensics team, provided further useful insights to an engaged audience of South Bank BID levy payers and Safer Lambeth BCRP members.
Project Diffuse demonstrated how staff are often the first responders in an acid attack and how important water is to dilute a corrosive substance.
Night Czar Amy Lamé closed the event, thanking the organisers and highlighting City Hall’s commitment to raising awareness on the prevention and response to acid attacks.
