2024's Miracle on Leake Street is the biggest yet!

The neighbourhood's free alternative Christmas party, located in the iconic Leake Street graffiti arches, was once again one of the highlights of the festive calendar.

Delivered by South Bank BID and WeAreWaterloo, the star on top of the Christmas Tree of this year's 'Miracle on Leake Street' was a neighbourhood wide 'Christmassaoke', courtesy of Lucky Voice in the Sidings. Speaking of trees, there was even a gold spray can Christmas Tree, created by Leake Street's artist-in-residence in honour of Europe's longest legal public graffiti tunnel.

Amidst this, attendees also enjoyed salsa dancing workshops, quirky wreath making classes, a craft market to pick up gifts, giant board games and more. Local drag superstar Pi The Mime once again returned to host: food and drink was available from local Leake Street favourites, including Passyunk Avenue, Draughts and Mamuska!, with Aures also opening their doors to guests.

Designed to both bring the community together in the colder months, and drive traffic down to the tunnel during the festive period, this year's event saw footfall up 40% on last year's event. The event also raised funds for Waterloo Foodbank, which provides fundamental support for local families at this time of year.
