We want to hear your thoughts on South Bank!

As part of the BID's ongoing commitment to delivering first class data and insight, we have launched a new wave of Audience Sentiment Research to deepen our understanding of how people experience and use South Bank as a leisure destination.

The BID is once again working with our research partners, Indigo Ltd, on this phase of audience research. Indigo first delivered audience insight work for the BID in 2022, focused on post-Covid audience behaviour in South Bank, particularly amongst returning employees.

This latest round of research builds on previous Audience Sentiment Surveys to help us track perceptions of South Bank and complements our quarterly analysis of footfall and spend, helping to build a complete story around how the area is performing. The survey will investigate details around how clean and welcoming the area feels, safety and security, opinions on the area’s air quality and greenery, what drives visitor engagement, how they travel to South Bank, how often they visit, and key demographic data.

Alongside a digital survey, there will be two waves of in-person street interviews taking place in August and September, to help capture the perspectives of those on the ground. We will be gathering feedback from visitors, workers, residents and students, to help capture the nuances between these different audience groups.

The insights gathered from the work are crucial to help benchmark the work the BID delivers, drive stakeholder work, and understand if resources are being best allocated accordingly. Results will also be shared with levy payers at an event later this year, to help local businesses understand how audience perceptions, alongside emerging dynamics and trends, impact their own trading.

The survey can be accessed below: please do share with your own internal teams and audiences, to help provide as comprehensive portrait as possible of current visitor sentiments.

Any responses are anonymous – South Bank BID and Indigo Ltd will only have access to your responses for analysis and will not be able to see any of your personal information. When you have completed the survey, you will be offered the chance to enter into a prize draw to win one of three £100 vouchers which can be used for a range of restaurants and cultural attractions in South Bank, or high street vouchers.

The survey closes at midday on Friday 12 September 2025.
