Work has begun on the redevelopment scheme on the site of the former London Studios at 72 Upper Ground.
The scheme, designed by Make Architects, involves the creation of new mixed-use space comprised of affordable workspace, alongside new arts and culture venues. 40% of the site is due to be turned into open access public realm.
The demolition work is being undertaken by contractors McGee, and will continue throughout the first 9 months of the year.
The BID sits on the Construction Coordination Group, which is run by the BID's Delivery Agent, South Bank Employers' Group - this group meets with local developers and landowners quarterly, to share updates on ongoing construction work and how this may impact the area. Any updates shared to this group will be shared with levy payers, to ensure businesses are looped in.
