The BID attends South Bank Flood Risk Roundtable

The BID was delighted to take part in a recent roundtable, delivered by South Bank and Waterloo Sustains Us in partnership with the Environment Agency, which focused on ways local partners can address the risk to South Bank from flooding.

To provide insight into the future flood risks posed to the Thames, colleagues from the Environment Agency presented key learnings featured in the Thames Estuary 2100 strategy, which outlines how to manage flood risk. The strategy also highlights the benefits beyond simply managing the risks of flooding, including the opportunities for local regeneration and growth which can be unlocked through collaborative working.

The roundtable, hosted by OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar & Brasserie, was attended by local landowners and partners, who shared their respective perspectives on how neighbourhood area should address this issue moving forward. With a range of different ideas emerging from the discussion, the BID is encouraged to see commitment area wide across stakeholders to continue working collaboratively to keep the Queen's Walk a key iconic feature of London's landscape for many years to come.

South Bank and Waterloo Sustains Us partners include South Bank BID, WeAreWaterloo, South Bank Employers' Group, South Bank and Waterloo Neighbours, Lambeth Council, and Southwark Council.
