The South Bank Spine Route masterplan, which the BID has worked on alongside local stakeholders, has reached its completion.
Businesses are invited to a public exhibition where the designs will be on display and London Borough of Lambeth together with the design team of LDA design and NRP will be present to talk you through the proposals, listen to thoughts and answer any questions.
The Spine Route (the road extending along Upper Ground and Belvedere Road) is a crucial delivery and access road for South Bank, with a number of businesses along the route. South Bank Employers’ Group (who deliver South Bank BID) were the last group to invest in the Spine Route in the nineties.
For many years, the BID has advocated for the regeneration of the road, due to the lack of upkeep and poor appearance which do not match the status of the area. As a result the Council set aside money in 2019 in order to complete the works. The first portion of the work, which involved Belvedere Road behind Jubilee Gardens and Chicheley Street, was completed in Summer 2022.
There are two open sessions where the proposals for the next phase of work will be on display:
Where: The Foyer, St John’s Church, 73 Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8TY
When:
Session 1 – Friday 9th December 4-7pm
Session 2 – Saturday 10th December 10am -1pm
