Returning to South Bank: A Venues Guide

post-image 25th September 2021

As more employees return to the office and ‘reunite’ with their colleagues, we’ve received an increase of requests through our South Bank Venues service for local spaces in which teams can meet up and collaborate.

So, whether you’re just looking for a different landscape for the day’s work, or planning a bigger welcome back event for your team, we’ve assembled a list of suggestions of some of the best venues in South Bank to head to.

London Marriott County Hall

What better change of backdrop to remote working than having a meeting at the iconic London Marriott County Hall? The hotel has 12 different meeting rooms, each with a unique character and design. For a workspace away from home, you can pick up one of their Day Passes too, which gives you access to your own private room from 6am to 6pm.

Brasserie Blanc Southbank

Located just behind the Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery, Brasserie Blanc’s private dining room is a convenient hideaway to get the team together, and enjoy some delicious food.

If you’re just looking to get a whole day’s work done, they also offer unlimited hot drinks from 11am – 5pm (Monday – Friday) for just £5 per person. This includes a table in the bar with Wi-Fi and a socket: just give them a call to book a spot.

Park Plaza

South Bank is spoiled for choice when it comes to your pick of Park Plazas, with four all based within walking distance.

If you’re looking for a spot in the heart of South Bank, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and Park Plaza County Hall both have a range of state-of-the-art meeting rooms. Depending on the size of room you need, they have rooms which range in capacity from boardrooms of 12 to ballrooms which can host over 1000 people.

Coin Street

Coin Street Community Builders have a number of impressive rooms available for hire in their Neighbourhood Centre, with flexible layouts seating between 10 – 170 people. Income from venue hires is invested into Coin Street’s mission as a social enterprise – for almost 40 years now, it has supported different local community programmes in South Bank and Waterloo.

Bankside Hotel

Focusing on art and community spirit, Bankside Hotel’s meeting rooms all feature eclectic artworks and handpicked furniture in every room and public space. You can also swap your home office for a hotel office with their Day Pass, which for £20 per person, will get you flexible spaces to work from in their bar and lounge, unlimited Wi-Fi, one large plate for lunch from their Artyard restaurant, and 3 cups of coffee throughout the day.
