The London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP) would like to invite you to its Stakeholder Engagement Event, at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre in Lambeth on Friday, 16th February 2018 from 09.00-13.00.
This is a chance for stakeholders and attendees to hear about the LEAP’s progress to date directly from members and to provide input on future plans.
The LEAP brings entrepreneurs and business together with the Mayoralty and London Councils to identify strategic actions to support and lead economic growth and job creation in the capital.
Chaired by Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, LEAP is responsible for allocating government funding across regeneration, skills and business support initiatives.
Key programmes funded by LEAP include an online and face-to-face business support programme (the London Growth Hub), a programme to help prepare young people for the world of work by connecting businesses with London schools (London Enterprise Advisers Network) and a £70m regeneration fund (the Good Growth Fund) that is currently in its second funding round.
This event will include an opportunity to hear about the work of LEAP directly from LEAP Board members and how this fits into work being delivered locally. There will also be workshops and a networking lunch. The three workshops will include discussions surrounding:
- Working together to ensure local businesses have access to the support they need to start, sustain and grow;
- Ensuring young Londoners are equipped with the skills to develop their careers or establish their own business; and
- The impact of the government’s plans to develop a local Industrial Strategy and the Mayor’s Economic Development Strategy on your borough
