South Bank BID Commences Operations

South Bank BID is now in operation after a successful ballot. The South Bank BID ballot took place in June, resulting in the creation of a new Business Improvement District (BID) for London, and a strong endorsement for the proposal with 90% voting in favour.

The BID formally came into being on 1 October 2014 and public realm and marketing delivery is already under way. South Bank BID Ltd is now registered and some twenty organisations have come forward to be members of the BID company. Five representatives have so far put themselves forward to be members of the BID board, as well as the local authorities nominating their participants. The first full Board meeting will be in January.

Delivery is being undertaken by South Bank Employers’ Group staff to minimise overheads and maximise performance via SBEG’s already existing and strong marketing and public realm assets.
