Employment and skills is a priority focus for members of South Bank BID – especially in the current climate, as businesses face increasing challenges with recruitment and the consequences of Brexit. These dynamics are relevant across many of the business sectors that our members operate within.
We were therefore pleased to announce details of our “Journey2Work” programme, which specifically focuses on supporting local residents who are aged 50 plus back into employment. The programme – delivered by Waterloo Job Shop – is comprehensive and supportive to employers, acting not only as an employment broker, but also offering a more personalised approach to ensure we are putting forward the most appropriate and credible candidates: delivering CV workshops; helping with interview techniques; and providing ongoing mentoring support once the client secures employment.
Now a few weeks into the contract, we are achieving good results, sourcing strong candidates through our partnership and outreach work, and offering experienced and committed clients and candidates to employers. We want to deliver benefits to our members, and provide as many South Bank based opportunities as possible.
