ITV Plans to Redevelop London Headquarters and Move all Staff to South Bank
ITV, Britain’s biggest commercial television broadcaster, is planning to make some major changes to its London home.
For a number of years ITV’s goal has been to bring its 2000+ London staff together under one roof for the first time. The company looked at a large number of potential sites, from Chiswick Park to Stratford and many in between, and what this search confirmed was that the historic London Studios location on the South Bank was the best base for ITV.
As a result the company intends to redevelop its existing site over the next few years, building a new and modern London headquarters for its employees with fantastic office space and facilities for ITV Studios’ Daytime shows, although it is still early days as far as the planning is concerned.
This move will ultimately bring many more jobs to South Bank. The fact an international television channel would want to base its London operations here is a huge vote of confidence in the area. With a history on the South Bank going back 40 years, this is an affirmation of the area as ITV’s spiritual home. ITV staff will move to two sites in central London: its existing base at Gray’s Inn Road and Waterhouse Square in Holborn, during the redevelopment.
